Day 1 Day 1 – Depart U.S.A
Enjoy the flight.
Day 2 Day 2 – Arrive Cairo
Get rest for tomorrow.
Day 3 Day 3 – Cairo - Churches - Pyramids
Visit the Church of Our Lady in Zeitoun where the Blessed Mother appeared several times. Then we visit Abu Serga Church built over the cave which provided refuge for the Holy Family. After a break for lunch (not included) we will stop at the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx.
Day 4 Day 4 – Cairo - Egyptian Museum - Sinai
Visit the Egyptian Museum and Tutankhamun’s fabulous treasures. Then we take our motor coach and drive through the Sinai Peninsula to our lodging near St. Catherine Monastery.
Day 5 Day 5 – Mount Sinai - St. Catherine - Taba Resort
A wake-up call at 2:00am for those who wish to make the four-hour climb to the top of Mount Sinai, believed to be the location where Moses received the Ten Commandments. Down to St. Catherine Monastery, built in the sixth century to protect what was believed to be the Burning Bush. Continue through the Sinai Peninsula to our hotel on the Red Sea to have a relaxing time before dinner and overnight.
Day 6 Day 6 – Border Crossing Into Israel - River Jordan - Dead Sea - Jericho - Nazareth
Cross the borders into Israel passing by the city of Eilat. We stop by the Dead Sea to feel the salty water and later we stop at the baptismal site on the River Jordan. Continue to Jericho and view the Mount of Temptation and the ruins of Old Jericho and later in the afternoon we drive through the Jordan Valley to our hotel in Nazareth or Tiberias.
Day 7 Day 7 – Galilee - Capernaum - Mount of Beatitudes
Explore the sites along the Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum where Jesus preached in the Synagogue, St. Peter’s House, Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha where Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread and fish. Enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Day 8 Day 8 – Cana - Nazareth - Mount Tabor - Haifa - Caesarea - Jerusalem
Stop in Cana, the traditional site where Jesus performed His first public miracle. Then to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation, the Holy Grotto and the Church of St. Joseph. Afterwards we drive to the foot of Mount Tabor and by small vans we drive to the top of Mount Tabor, the traditional site of Jesus’ transfiguration. We continue to Haifa and Mount Carmel to visit the Carmelite Monastery and the church of the Prophet Elijah. On our way to Jerusalem we stop in Caesarea to see the Roman aqueduct and ruins of the city where St. Peter preached to the first gentile. Arrive Jerusalem later in the afternoon.
Day 9 Day 9 – Mt. Of Olives - Gethsemane - Bethlehem - Ein Karem
Start with the Mount of Olives, Church of Pater Noster, down to Dominus Flevit and St. Mary Magdalene Church, Garden of Gethsemane and on to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity, Holy Manger, the Basilica of St. Catherine, the Milk Grotto and then the Shepherds’ Field. On the way back, stop in Ein Karem to visit the Church of the Visitation.
Day 10 Day 10 – Jerusalem - Old City - Mount Zion
Early in the morning, we walk the Way of the Cross as a group from the first station until we enter the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit Golgotha and the empty tomb of Our Lord. Return to hotel for breakfast and then return to the Old City and walk through the Cardo to the Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock. On Mount Zion, we visit the Room of the Last Supper, the House of Caiaphas and the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu.
Day 11 Day 11 – Cross the borders into Jordan - Madaba - Mount Nebo
Transfer to the border crossing on the River Jordan. We drive up to visit Madaba and the Church, home to a beautiful 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land. We view the “Promised Land” from the summit of Mount Nebo.
Day 12 Day 12 – Petra
Our visit of the “rose-red city” begins at the “Siq”, a winding canyon road. At the end of the passage, we will see Petra’s most beautiful monument - the Treasury. We will discover temples, royal tombs, a theater and water channels.
Day 13 Day 13 – Return to USA
