Day 1 Day 1 – Depart U.S.A
Enjoy the flight.
Day 2 Day 2 – Arrive Tel Aviv
Arrive and transfer to our hotel in Netanya by the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 3 Day 3 – Caesarea - Nazareth - Tiberias
Drive to Caesarea to visit the Roman temple, royal palace, amphitheater and public buildings. This is the place where St. Paul was imprisoned and where St. Peter preached to the first Gentile. Then travel to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation, the Holy Grotto and the Church of St. Joseph. We stop in Cana where Jesus performed His first public miracle at the wedding
Day 4 Day 4 – Galilee - Capernaum - Mount of Beatitudes
Today we will explore the sites along the Sea of Galilee: Capernaum where Jesus preached in the Synagogue, St. Peter ‘s House, Mount Beatitudes, and Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread and fish. We will also enjoy a ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Day 5 Day 5 – Tiberias - Mount Tabor - Jericho - River Jordan - Bethany - Jerusalem
Depart the Galilee Region and drive towards Jerusalem. Stop on Mount Tabor, the traditional site of Jesus’ transfiguration. We visit the Franciscan Monastery and Church. Drive towards Jericho to view the Mount of Temptation and see the ancient excavations and Elijah’s Fountain and then to the River Jordan and the Dead Sea. Stop in Bethany to visit the house of Mary, Martha and Lazarus ‘ Tomb. Continue to our hotel in Jerusalem.
Day 6 Day 6 – Mount of Olives - Gethsemane - Bethlehem - Ein Karem
Start our day on the Mount of Olives, the Church of Pater Noster, and the Dome of the Ascension, then down to the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of All Nations. Continue to Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity, the Holy Manger and the Basilica of St. Catherine, and down to the Shepherds’ Field. On the way back to Jerusalem we stop in Ein Karem to visit the Church of the Visitation.
Day 7 Day 7 – Jerusalem - Old City - Mount Zion
We enter the Old City of Jerusalem to visit the Church of St. Anne, the Pools of Bethesda and follow the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We walk Jerusalem through the Cardo to the Western Wall. On Mt. Zion, we visit the Room of the Last Supper, the House of Caiaphas and the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu.
Day 8 Day 8 – Tel Aviv - Rome - Assisi
Fly to Rome, where our Italian escort and bus driver will welcome us to Italy. Drive to Assisi to explore the hilltop birthplace of St. Francis. In the crypt of St. Francis Basilica lies the tomb of one of the most beloved saints of all time. Then we visit the Basilica of St. Clare and then down to the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the Porziuncola located on the lower plains of Assisi.
Day 9 Day 9 – Assisi - Rome
Depart Assisi to Rome. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a walking tour of Imperial Rome: The Colosseum, the Forum, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain.
Day 10 Day 10 – Rome - Vatican - Basilicas
This morning we visit the heart, home and spiritual capital for over one billion Catholics around the world. St. Peter ‘s Basilica offers the devout pilgrim an experience never to be forgotten. Visit the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel to admire the works of Michelangelo. Continue to the other Basilicas of Rome: St. Mary Major and St. John Lateran.
Day 11 Day 11 – Papal Audience - Catacombs - St. Paul’s Outside the Walls
Transfer to the Vatican City to join pilgrims from around the world for an audience with His Holiness the Pope (subject to the Holy Father’s schedule and health). Following the audience, we drive the Appian Way to the Catacombs. On our way to the hotel, we visit the Basilica of St. Paul ‘s Outside the Walls.
Day 12 Day 12 – Return to USA
