Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the USA on your international overnight flight.
Day 2 October 16 – ARRIVE IN ROME
You will arrive in Rome, Italy where you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Port of Civitavecchia to board the Explorer of the Seas. (D)
Day 3 October 17 – TAORMINA, SICILY, ITALY
Explore Taormina, climb to the mountaintop Greek Theater with its spectacular views of the Mediterranean and Mt. Etna. Visit the Cathedral of Taormina, dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari and celebrate Mass there. Day 5 October 19 - CHANIA (SOUDA), CRETE, GREECE

Arrive today at the world-famous Greek Island of Mykonos, where gleaming whitewashed buildings seem to climb atop each other to reach the azure sky. Day 7 October 21 - SANTORINI
Dock in Santorini today, one of the most beautiful of the Greek islands where picturesque whitewashed villages topped with brilliant blue domes stand in stark contrast to the sheer drop cliffs overlooking the Aegean Sea. The island itself perches on the edges of a volcano whose eruption 3,500 years ago is thought to have led to the collapse of the Minoan civilization. Day 8 October 22 - ATHENS & CORINTH
Discover the rich architectural splendor of the ancient city of Athens as your guide introduces you to the world-renowned Acropolis, the Propylaea, the Parthenon and the Erechtheum. Stand on Mars Hill as the apostle Paul did when he proclaimed, “I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you”. As you stroll the Agora (ancient marketplace and center of Athenian public life), recall that this was where the Apostle Paul preached “Jesus and the resurrection” to the skeptical Athenians. Also see the House of Parliament, thePresidential Palace and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This afternoon tour the city of Corinth, where the apostle Paul met fellow tentmakers, Aquila and Priscilla, and received a vision from the Lord saying, “I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.” As Paul spoke, Crispus (chief ruler of the synagogue) and many others believed and were baptized, establishing the church at Corinth to whom Paul later wrote his two epistles. Discover the Archaeological Museum, Market Place and Temples. As you walk among the ruins, stand on the Bema, where the apostle Paul stood before Gallio to face charges brought against him by the Jews. (B,L,D)

Day 10 October 24 – POMPEII
Journey inland to ancient Pompeii, dating almost to the time of Paul, where you can see the spectacular ruins that were covered by ash from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in A.D. 79. Visit the Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii to see the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary painting donated to Bartolo Longo while he was building the church. Celebrate Mass here before returning to the ship. (B,L,D)
Day 11 October 25 – CATACOMBS, FOUNTAINS & SQUARES
Disembark the Explorer of the Seas this morning and transfer from Civitavecchia to Rome. We will drive along the Ancient Appian Way and visit the Catacombs. We will Celebrate Mass there. Afterwards, we will transfer to the city center. We will enjoy a walking tour to the Trevi fountain, explore the Pantheon, and end in Navona Square to enjoy free time for lunch and shopping. Check in to your hotel in Rome for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Day 12 October 26 – BASILICAS OF ROME & VATICAN MUSEUM
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of the Major Basilicas. The ceiling of the Basilica of St. Mary Major is said to be decorated with gold that Columbus brought back from the new world. We will also visit the Basilica of St. John Lateran which is the oldest of the major basilicas and ranks first as the actual “parish church” of the Pope. Enjoy a break for lunch on your own. After lunch, we will have a tour of the Vatican Museums, which house what can be described as the most important collections of art in the world, including the Sistine Chapel. Return to the hotel in Rome for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Day 13 October 27 – ASSISI
After breakfast, we will journey to Assisi to meet our local guide for a walking tour of the birthplace of St. Francis. We will visit the Basilicas of St. Francis and St. Clare, and San Damiano Convent to see the Cross which spoke to St. Francis and Hermitage of Carceri. After lunch, we will visit St. Mary of the Angels in the Valley where we celebrate Mass and see the thornless rosebushes. Return to the hotel in Rome for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Day 14 October 28 – PAPAL AUDIENCE, IMPERIAL ROME, STEPS OF ST. PAUL
This morning we go to San Peter’s square to attend the weekly papal audience. In the afternoon, we will have a panoramic tour of Roman antiquity. This includeds Trajan’s market, Trajan’s Forum and Column, Arch of Constantine, and House of the Knights of Rhodes. Next, we proceed to the Colosseum. We continue to Tre Fontane Abbey, the place of Paul’s martyrdom. Our last stop is at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. Celebrate Mass, then return to the hotel in Rome for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Day 15 October 29 – RETURN TO USA
Return home with a new understanding of the Apostle Paul’s life and ministry. (B)
