In an apostolic letter from Pope Francis during his beatification, the pope declared that Carlo Acutis' feast will take place each year on October 12, the anniversary of his death in Milan in 2006.

Venerable Carlo Acutis, an Italian teen whose beatification Pope Francis approved in February, is known for his gift for computer programming, but how he used those skills is what makes him an example of holiness, according to the postulator of his sainthood cause. Carlo is known to have called the Eucharist his "highway to heaven." From his adolescence, Carlo prayed the rosary daily and in addition to other devotions, frequently spent time in Eucharistic adoration. He said when "we face the sun we become tan... but when we place ourselves in front of the Eucharistic Jesus we become saints." Carlo died from a brain tumor in 2006 at the age 15. The summer after his 14th birthday, he spent researching Eucharistic miracles and creating a website to catalog and share the information with others. "Carlo wanted people to approach the Eucharist and for this he used the internet," "One summer before his death, he went to look for where great Eucharistic miracles occurred in the world, those recognized by the Church, from the first Christian era to the present day."

Day 1 Depart the USA

Depart the USA.

Day 2 Milan

Upon arrival at Milan Airport, we will meet our tour manager, board private bus and drive to the city centre to enjoy a guided walking tour including the Duomo with its Square, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, La Scala Opera Theatre and Castello Sforzesco. After lunch, we will visit the Church of Santa Maria Segreta, which was the parish church of Carlo when he lived in Milan. Celebrate Mass. Check in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Milan, Rimini

After breakfast, we will depart our hotel and drive to Riminito and see the Temple of The Most Holy Eucharistic. This Eucharistic miracle was performed directly by Saint Anthony after he was challenged by a certain Bonovillo to demonstrate the truth of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. The most ancient biography of Saint Anthony, carries Bonovillo’s exact words: “Father! I tell you before all these people: I will believe in the Eucharist if my mule, after fasting for three days, adores the Host which you offer him rather than eating the fodder which I give him.” The mule, despite the fact that it was exhausted by hunger, knelt before the Host and refused its food. Celebrate Mass. Check in at our hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Rimini, Siena, Assisi

After breakfast and check-out, we will drive to Siena, the birthplace of Saints Catherine and Bernardine. We will stroll the Piazza del Campo and visit the Cathedral and the Basilica of St. Francis, (TBC) containing the miraculous consecrated host that remained intact since 1730. We will also visit the Basilica of St Dominic and celebrate Mass. In the late afternoon, we will continue to Assisi. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Assisi

After breakfast, we will spend the day in Assisi. We will explore the hilltop birthplace of St. Francis. In the Crypt of St. Francis Basilica lies the tomb of one of the most beloved saints of all time, St. Francis of Assisi. Continue to the Basilica of St. Clare and the Crucifix from which Jesus spoke to St. Francis. In the afternoon, we will visit the Sanctuary of the Renunciation, which is a part of the Church of St. Mary Major to pray over the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis. Dinner at our hotel and overnight.

Day 6 Assisi, Orvieto

After breakfast, we will drive to Orvieto to visit the Cathedral which houses the holy corporal containing the blood from the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena that occasioned the proclamation of the Feast of Corpus Christi. Celebrate Mass. After lunch, we will return to Assisi. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7 Assisi, Cascia, Loreto

After breakfast, we will check-out and visit the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the place where the Eucharistic Miracle took place in 1240. We will see the Porziuncola ( small church ) and the Chapel of Transit (where San Francis died). Then, we will continue to Cascia to visit the Basilica of St. Rita, the Chapel with her incorrupt body, and celebrate Mass at the Eucharistic Miracle chapel. In 1330 a priest called to take Holy Communion to the home of a sick person and placed the host in his breviary, then, he saw that the host had turned into blood. We will also visit the monastery where St Rita spent the largest part of her life to see the Crucifix from which St. Rita received the stigmata, her wedding ring and habit. Continue to Loreto. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 8 Loreto, Lanciano, Rome

This morning, we will begin our day visiting the family home of Jesus, Mary and Joseph located inside the Basilica of Loreto, where it has been since 1294. Then, we will drive to Lanciano. The holy miracle resides in the Sanctuary of the Eucharistic Miracle near the Piazza Plebiscito. Celebrate Mass. Continue to Rome. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 9 Rome, Veroli, Alatri, Rome

Today, we will depart and drive to Veroli to see the Church of St Erasmus. Here, during Easter of 1570, the Blessed Sacrament was exposed for the Forty Hours of public adoration. The Child Jesus appeared in the exposed Host and manifested many graces. Today, the chalice where the Blessed Sacrament was exposed is kept in the same Church of St. Erasmus and is used once a year at the celebration of Mass on Easter Tuesday. Continue to Alatri to see the Cathedral of St. Paul the Apostle, where the relic of the Miracle of 1228 is kept. A Host transformed into flesh after it had been robbed by a young woman, who, on the advice of a sorceress, wanted to reconquer her lost love. Then, we will continue to Rome. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 10 Vatican Museums, Basilicas

This morning, we will visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel to admire the works of Michelangelo. Visit St. Peter’s Basilica, which offers the devout pilgrim an experience never to be forgotten. After lunch, we will visit the Basilica of St John in Lateran, the Holy Steps, St Mary Major and St Pudenziana, where it is still possible today to see the miraculous imprint left by the Host which fell on the steps of the altar in the Caetani Chapel. The imprint on the step was left when the Host fell from the hands of a priest, who, while celebrating Mass began to doubt the Real Presence of Christ in the sacrament of the Eucharist. Celebrate Mass. We will end our night with a farewell dinner in a restaurant. Return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 11 Wednesday Papal Audience, Baroque Squares

Transfer to the Vatican City to join pilgrims from around the world for an audience with His Holiness the Pope (subject to the Holy Father’s schedule and health). After lunch, we will enjoy a walking tour through the imposing baroque squares, fountains and churches of Rome. We will start from Trevi Fountain. Then, we will continue to the Pantheon and lastly, we will reach Navona Square with the famous Bernini’s fountain of the Four Rivers. Celebrate Mass at the Church of St Augustin which houses Caravaggio's painting “Madonna dei Pellegrini” and the tomb of Santa Monica. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 12 Return to the USA

Return to the USA.
