Daily Itinerary

Day 1 September 26 - Depart the USA

Your pilgrimage begins as you depart the United States on an overnight international flight.

Day 2 September 27 - Arrive in Greece

Arrive in Thessaloniki, Greece, where you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki.

Day 3 September 28 - Amphipolis, Philippi, and Neapoli (Kavala)

Follow in the footsteps of Paul and Silas as you journey to Amphipolis and explore the ruins of early Christian basilicas. Continue to Philippi, where a baptismal site commemorates Lydia—the first Christian convert in Europe—who opened her heart to Paul’s message (Acts 16:13–15). Visit the Roman-era crypt believed to have been Paul’s prison, and see the Agora, Basilica of Paul, and Theater. End the day in Neapolis (Kavala), the picturesque port where Paul, Timothy, and Silas first landed. View the Roman Aqueduct and Acropolis before returning to Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 September 29 - Thessaloniki and Veria (Berea)

Discover Thessaloniki, where Paul was accused of “turning the world upside down” with his preaching (Acts 17:3–6). Visit the Archaeological Museum and the Basilica of St. Demetrios, dedicated to the city’s patron saint and martyr. See the Agora, the Galerius Arch, and enjoy views from the Old City Ramparts, many of which date to Roman times. Continue to Veria (Berea), where Jews and prominent Greeks accepted the faith (Acts 17:10–12). Travel onward to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 September 30 - Meteora and Delphi

Journey to the rock formations of Meteora (“in the heavens above”), where Byzantine monasteries rise dramatically atop towering sandstone pillars. Learn how 13th-century monks first sought refuge in cliffside caves before building these monastic communities. After touring a monastery, continue to Delphi, once considered the religious center of the ancient Greek world. Walk the Sacred Way to the Athenian Treasury, Theatre, and Temple of Apollo, where the oracle delivered her prophecies. Reflect on the spiritual challenges Paul faced in such places steeped in pagan worship. Visit the museum to see treasures such as the famous 5th-century bronze Charioteer. Continue to Athens for overnight.

Day 6 October 1 - Corinth and Cenchreae

Explore Corinth, where Paul met Aquila and Priscilla and received encouragement from the Lord in a vision: “I am with you... for I have many people in this city” (Acts 18:10). Here, Crispus, the synagogue leader, and many others believed and were baptized (Acts 18:8), forming the Corinthian church to whom Paul later wrote his epistles. Visit the Archaeological Museum, Market Place, and Temples, and stand on the Bema, where Paul appeared before Gallio. Conclude the day with a stop at Cenchreae, the port from which Paul sailed for Syria (Acts 18:12–18). Return to Athens for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 October 2 - Athens

(Note: Cruise extension passengers will depart this morning for Piraeus to embark on their cruise.)
Experience the grandeur of Athens with a guided tour of the Acropolis, including the Propylaea, Parthenon, and Erechtheion. Stand on Mars Hill, where Paul proclaimed, “I found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you” (Acts 17:23). Visit the Agora, where Paul preached “Jesus and the resurrection” (Acts 17:18), and see landmarks such as the House of Parliament, the Presidential Palace, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The afternoon is free to explore Athens at leisure or take an optional tour of the New Acropolis Museum (from $30). Dinner and overnight in Athens.

Day 8 October 3 - Return to the USA

Depart Athens and return home, carrying with you a deeper understanding of the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul.
