Daily Itinerary
Day 1 December 1 - Departure
Depart the USA.
Day 2 December 2 - Tel Aviv Arrival, Transfer to Nazareth
Arrive in Tel Aviv. Meet our English-speaking representative, who will escort and transfer to the hotel for check in and dinner.
Day 3 December 3 - Caesarea, Stella Maris, Nazareth
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, explore Caesarea, once the capital of the Roman province, including the Roman Amphitheatre, Herod’s Palace, and aqueducts. This is where Peter baptized the Roman centurion Cornelius and where Paul set sail for Rome. Next, visit Stella Maris in Haifa, a Carmelite monastery atop the cave where Elijah lived, with panoramic views of the Bay of Acco. Return to Nazareth, the childhood home of Jesus, to visit the Church of the Annunciation, Upper Basilica, and Joseph’s Workshop.
Day 4 December 4 - Cana, Sea of Galilee, Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Capernaum
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, visit Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed His first miracle, and couples December renew their wedding vows in the Franciscan Chapel. Continue to the Sea of Galilee for a serene boat ride, then visit the Mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, and Peter’s Primacy. Explore Capernaum, including Peter’s mother-in-law’s house and an ancient synagogue.
Day 5 December 5 - Nazareth, Mount Tabor, Shepherd’s Field, Bethlehem
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Check out after breakfast and visit Mount Tabor, site of the Transfiguration, followed by Shepherd’s Field and Bethlehem, including the Church of the Nativity. Check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner.
Day 6 December 6 - Jerusalem: Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, Mount Zion, Ein Karem
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Drive to the Mount of Olives for panoramic views of Jerusalem, visiting Pater Noster and Dominus Flevit, and walk along the Palm Sunday Path and Jewish Cemetery. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. Continue to Mount Zion to see the House of Caiaphas, Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, and the Cenacle (Upper Room), then explore the Church of the Dormition before finishing the day in Ein Karem, birthplace of St. John the Baptist.
Day 7 December 7 - Bethany, Jericho, Mount of Temptation, Beth Arabah, Dead Sea Swim, Christmas Tree Lighting
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Begin the day in Bethany, home of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha, and visit the empty tomb. Explore Jericho, including the Sycamore Tree site, then take a cable car to the Mount of Temptation. Visit Beth Arabah at the River Jordan, where Jesus was baptized, and in the afternoon enjoy a dip in the Dead Sea. In the evening, take part of the Christmas Tree Lighting.
Day 8 December 8 - Jerusalem: Via Dolorosa, Holy Sepulcher, St. Anne Church, Wailing Wall, Leisure
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Walk the Way of the Cross (Via Dolorosa) through the Old City to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and visit Golgotha and Jesus’ tomb. After breakfast in the Old City, visit St. Anne Church, the Pools of Bethesda, and the Wailing Wall, with the rest of the day at leisure for personal exploration.
Day 9 December 9 - Return to the USA
Return to the USA.
