Daily Itinerary

Day 1 December 8 - Depart Los Angeles

Our pilgrimage begins as we depart Los Angeles on flight AM649 at 7:02 AM and arrive in Mexico City at 12:50 PM. After checking through immigration and customs, we proceed to the exit door to meet our tour guide and bus driver. Then, we drive to Puebla.

Day 2 December 9 - Puebla, Cholula, Cuernavaca

Today, we will visit Puebla’s Cathedral, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, and the Church of St. Dominic to admire the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary, built in 1690. We will drive to Cuernavaca, the “eternal springs” city. Here, we will explore the beautiful garden of the market and the church area. Then, we will visit the famous silver mining town of Taxco, nestled in the rugged mountains of the Sierra Madre. We will stroll through the Cobblestone Streets, visiting Santa Prisca Church with its Baroque altarpieces. We will have dinner and overnight at the hotel in Taxco.

Day 3 December 10 - Taxco, Xochimilco, Mexico City

This morning, we will drive to the neighborhoods of San Angel and Coyocan with their colonial buildings, churches, and lively public squares. Continuing to Xochimilco, the floating gardens. We will depart for Mexico City to visit the Holy Family Church, where you will view the tomb of the Jesuit martyr, Blessed Miguel Agustin Pro. His final words before the firing squad were “Viva Cristo Rey!” which translates to “Long Live Christ the King!” At Holy Family Church, you can venerate this saint’s relics and ask for his intercession. We will continue to the Church of Santo Domingo, and you will see several chapels. To the Church of San José del Altillo to visit the crypt where Blessed Conchita Cabrera is buried.

Day 4 December 11 - Plaza of the Three Cultures, Zocalo, Cathedral

San Francisco, Dulles & Detroit group:
Drive to Cuernavaca, the city of eternal springs. Then, visit the famous silver mining town of Taxco. Return to Mexico City.

Los Angels group:
Visit the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the New Basilica, which houses the sacred image of the virgin (Tilma), and the old Basilica. Walk up Tepeyac Hill and the surrounding gardens. Then, a panoramic city tour includes the plaza of the three cultures, the zocalo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the National Palace.

Day 5 December 12 - Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Teotihuacan

Today, we will drive to Teotihuacan, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in Mexico. Countless monumental structures, including the pyramids of the Sun and Moon, frame the mile-long Avenue of the Dead. Continue to the impressive complex and one of Mexico’s holiest shrines, The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Patroness of the Americas) that houses the sacred image of the Virgin (Tilma), where Our Lady’s image was miraculously imprinted. We will attend the Mass of the Roses and do the Consecration to Jesus through Our Lady. Walk up Tepeyac Hill and the surrounding gardens. Visit the Old Basilica was built in response to Our Lady’s request to the visionary St. Juan Diego.

Day 6 December 13 - Return to the USA

Transfer to the Shrine of Guadalupe to say goodbye to our Lady and then to the airport. Depart on AM642 at 1:15 PM. Arrive in Los Angeles at 3:42 PM
