Daily Itinerary

Day 1 June 20 - Depart Los Angeles

Our pilgrimage begins as we depart Los Angeles on flight AM783 at 2:32 PM to Guadalajara, arriving at 6:55 PM. After checking through Immigration and Customs, we proceed to meet our Adriatic Tours Representative. We will transfer to our hotel for check-in.

Day 2 June 21 - Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tlaquepaque

This morning, we will visit the church of Our Lady of Zapopan for Mass. Then, continue on a tour of Tlaquepaque, visiting the Church of San Pedro and the Solitude Church. We will take some time for shopping and lunch before returning to Guadalajara. Here, we will visit the Downtown and Libertad Market.

Day 3 June 22 - Guadalajara, San Juan De Los Lagos, Cristo Rey, Guanajuato

This morning, we will drive to Zapotlanejo to visit the church of the Blessed Sacrament, the place where the miracle of the host happened. Then, drive to San Juan De Los Lagos to visit the main cathedral.

Day 4 June 23 - Guanajuato, San Miguel De Allende, Queretaro, Mexico City

In the morning, we will depart to San Miguel de Allende. A city that enchants visitors with its cobblestone streets, the inviting Zocalo is framed by a stunning 17th-century Gothic church and centuries-old buildings, plus strings of cafes and numerous art galleries. Drive to Queretaro, the lovely, well-preserved colonial city. Visit the center, which is full of markets, museums, churches, and historical monuments commemorating the city’s heroes. Continue to Mexico City.

Day 5 June 24 - Shrine Of Guadalupe, Mexico City Cathedral, Zocalo Square, Xochimilco

Today, we drive to the impressive complex and one of Mexico’s holiest places. This is where the Virgin of Guadalupe is said to have appeared before a humble Indian named Juan Diego. Visit the New Basilica that houses the sacred image of the Virgin (Tilma). Later, we see the Old Basilica, Tepeyac Hill and the surrounding gardens. Break for lunch and then continue to visit the Zocalo, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace, containing the offices of the presidency and featuring along the walls of its central patio Diego Rivera’s stirring mural. Return to the hotel for our dinner and overnight.

Day 6 June 25 - Puebla, San Miguel, Ocotlán

We start the day with a tour of the old city, the Cathedral, Santo Dominico Church, and the Rosary Chapel. Continue to Tlaxcala and the Shrine of San Miguel del Milagro. During your stroll down the corridors of Puebla, you will find beautiful creations in Talavera – a type of ceramic with colorful drawings – made into decorative plates, vases, glasses, tiles, trays, wall hangings, mugs, and clocks. We will visit the site where St. Michael the Archangel appeared to Diego Lazaro in 1631, directing him to the grotto and a well of miraculous waters. Continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlán, where we will see the image of Our Lady of Ocotlán burnt into a tree trunk after she appeared to Diego Bernardino in 1541. Perfectly preserved, the image in a tree resides in the Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlán. Dinner and overnight in Puebla.

Day 7 June 26 - Pyramids, Xochimilco

Today, we will visit Teotihuacan. This ancient city was the most important for an estimated 200,000 people. Be amazed by the pyramids of the Sun and Moon, with the mile-long Avenue of the Dead framed by countless monumental structures. Return to Mexico City to enjoy a ride in a beautiful “trajinera (canoe)” with mariachis at Xochimilco, the only canals left of the time of the Aztecs. Dinner and overnight in Mexico City.

Day 8 June 27 - Mexico City, Los Angeles

Depart on flight AM618 at 5:15 PM to Los Angeles, arriving at 8:23 PM.
