Daily Itinerary

Day 1 Friday, August 2, 2024 - Departure

Depart San Francisco on AM623 at 1:53 pm and arrive in Guadalajara at 6:57 pm. Meet our tour guide and driver. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 Saturday, August 3, 2024 - Guadalajara, Zapopan

This morning, we will visit the church of Our Lady of Zapopan and later a tour of Tlaquepaque and the downtown area of Guadalajara, The Cathedral, Plaza Tapatia, and the many interesting sites and historical buildings connected with the colonial era.

Day 3 Sunday, August 4, 2024 - Guadalajara, San Juan De Los Lagos, Cristo Rey, Guanajuato

Depart Guadalajara and drive to San Juan De Los Lagos to visit the main Cathedral. On to Cerro Del Cubilete to see the impressive statue of Christ the King. Continue to Guanajuato which was founded in 1559 and contains some of Mexico’s grandest colonial churches, government buildings, mansions, and theaters. Pipila Monument, set on a hillside overlooking the city, affords a stunning panorama of Guanajuato and the surrounding hills.

Day 4 Monday, August 5, 2024 - Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico City

In the morning, we will depart to San Miguel de Allende. A city that enchants visitors with its cobblestone streets, the inviting Zocalo is framed by a stunning 17th-century Gothic church and centuries-old buildings plus strings of cafes and numerous art galleries. Continue to Mexico City.

Day 5 Tuesday, August 6, 2024 - Shrine of Guadalupe, Mexico City

Today, we will begin our day as we visit Our Lady of Guadalupe. We will visit the New Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe which houses the sacred image of the Virgin (Tilma). Then, we will continue to the Old Basilica, Tepeyac Hill, and the surrounding Gardens. In the afternoon, We will have a panoramic city tour that includes the Plaza of the Three Cultures, the Zocalo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the National Palace. If time permits, we will visit the National Anthropology Museum which contains the best collection of Mesoamerican artifacts in the world. See the Aztec exhibit with the famous Sun Stone or Aztec Calendar.

Day 6 Wednesday, August 7, 2024 - Taxco, Cuernavaca, Mexico City

This morning, on our way to Taxco, we will stop in Cuernavaca, the city of eternal springs. Here we will explore the market and the church area with its beautiful gardens. Then, we will continue to Taxco, and explore this popular and famous silver mining town. Taxco is nestled in the rugged mountains of the Sierra Madre. We will stroll through the cobble-stoned streets, visiting Santa Prisca Church with its Baroque altarpieces before we return to Mexico City.

Day 7 Thursday, August 8, 2024 - Pyramids of Teotihuacan, Our Lady of Guadalupe

This morning, we will drive to Teotihuacán, one of the best-preserved cities in Mexico. Teotihuacán was the most important city in North America around 500AD when its population was estimated at 200,000 people. We will be amazed by the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon and the mile-long Avenue of the Dead framed by countless monuments and structures. Continue to Xochimilco for a tour of the canals and floating gardens, where we will enjoy a festive atmosphere with music, shopping, and lunch on board the “trajinera”, a traditional boat.

Day 8 Friday, August 9, 2024 - Departure

Depart Mexico City on AM668 at 10:15 am and arrive in san Francisco at 1:54 pm.
